Thomas Huckles, Convict, Salamander 1791
Thomas Huckles was found guilty for stealing pigs with the value of 9s being the property of Thomas Ireland on 6 February 1791; he was tried at Middlesex on 25 February 1791 and sentenced to transportation for seven years. He was sent to the Dunkirk Hulk and discharge on 5 March 1791 for the journey to NSW. Thomas Huckles arrived in NSW per Salamander in August 1791 with the Third Fleet .
The Salamander arrived with 155 male convicts; 10 male convicts had died on the voyage to NSW. In early September, the ship was ordered to sail to Norfolk Island with the people and provisions she had on board. The Salamander arrived at Norfolk Island on 16 September 1791, Thomas Huckles was placed on the stores as a convict. He departed Norfolk Island aboard the Marquis Cornwallis on 28 May 1796 for Europe. Thomas Huckles is not to be confused with Thomas Huxley/Jones
