1803/1804 headstone reused in 1828 on Norfolk Island

This is the 2nd settlement burial marker of John Shearman who died in 1828, which is Emily Wilson headstone that reused in 1828 as ordered by Captain Wright. Emily Wilson died between May 1803 and June 1804

.. that the tomb of young lady, a Miss Wilson, was removed by [Wright’s] orders, and the inscription on the stone obliterated, in order to be put over a dead soldier of the 39th: Australian 6 March 1829: 2
